This was disclosed by the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Riau, Edwar Sanger. According to him, with the expanding of flood, the Government in Three Districts is urged in order to improve the status of flood become emergency response.

"Three areas must immediately improve the status of flood to be emergency response, since the flood situation continues to escalate," he said, Tuesday (09/02/2016).

According to Edward, today he along with Acting Governor Arsyadjuliandi Rachman and Dandrem Wirabima and relevant agencies are currently reviewing flood conditions in Kampar.

Kampar, said Edward, is one of three districts worst affected by the floods. This is due to heavy rains in West Sumatra, which is incidentally the upstream area of the Kampar River.

"The condition of the water in the Koto Panjang hydropower (PLTA) continues to increase. Today five door has been opened, because the water level continues to rise," he said.

Therefore, he asks Kampar regency, Rohul and Kuansing immediately establish flood emergency response status. "In order to support the deployment process of rapid and community can be evacuated as soon as possible," he said.
