Riau Book —Facing the implementation of the Asean Economic Community (AEC), which was formally applied, in the end of December, 2015, the Department of Labor of Dumai Government, Riau, is preparing local human resources.

One of those preparations is training and guidance program in facing against free trade system.

Head Department of Labor of Dumai, Amiruddin said the training agenda is prepared to face the MEA because of labor market competition will be so intense and complex that local human resource must be ready and able to compete.

"In this training, we will also be working closely with the company as a form of corporate social responsibility to the community through social funding to improve the capabilities of local human resources," he told reporters on Monday (4/1).

He said the effort to bring a number of these companies due to the budget of local government of Dumai is relatively minimal and not sufficient to accommodate all planned training program.

Municipal Department for Labor will also identify the needs of workers in the company for the benefit of training and ready to be channeled and accommodated the company.

"Identifying the needs of these workers also for the data base of the workforce in 2015 and 2020," he said.

According to him, the training will use local government budget in 2016, include training welder certification, certification of boilers, salon training, training in sewing, embroidery, locomotives and electrical installation training for 120 persons.

He explained MEA trading system not only makes the flow of trade in goods or services, but also the labor market so that professionals local workforce must have high competitiveness.

The local government is expected to take a role to improve the self-confidence of local human resources, either through the increasing of competence in school and learning systems, as well as workforce skills training.

Job training and labor competency certification is an important part of the investment of qualified human resources in global competition. Competency certification is very important as authentic proof of competence work includes aspects of knowledge, skills and attitudes that work in accordance with established standards.

"We expect the number of efforts which is prepare, the community of Dumai able to meet leverage competitive and have high skills and professional," he hoped. (RB)
